Atlanta Plant Sitter For Hire

About This Plant Sitter

Hi, I’m Mike and I have what some might call an unusual hobby, I plant sit. Yep, you heard that right. While most people are busy dog sitting or cat sitting, I’m the guy you call to make sure your ficus doesn’t kick the bucket while you’re off sipping daquiris in Hawaii. But don’t let the job title fool you—there’s a lot more to it than just watering a few leaves and hoping for the best.

My love affair with plants started when I was a kid, thanks to my grandma and her garden that looked like it was straight out of a Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Summers meant endless hours of digging in the dirt, learning plant names, and most importantly, falling in love with the hibiscus. That plant had me at hello with its gigantic, colorful blooms. And now, in my early thirties, I’ve turned that love into a career. Who knew that all those hours in grandma’s garden would pay off?

In my little corner of Atlanta, Georgia, I’m the go-to guy for plant sitting and plant care. Urban professionals, vacationing families, you name it, they all trust me with their precious plants. And let me tell you, being a plant sitter is no small feat. It’s like being a doctor, but for things that can’t tell you verbally they’re unhappy. You have to read the signs. A drooping leaf here, a yellowing petal there. It’s like CSI: Plant Edition.

The hibiscus, though, that’s my specialty. My apartment is basically a shrine to this tropical beauty. Step onto my balcony, and you’ll be greeted by a collection of hibiscus flowers in every color imaginable. I’ve nailed the perfect formula for these plants, just the right amount of sunlight, a sprinkle of water, and a dash of nutrients. People say my hibiscus flowers are like something out of a tropical paradise. Not that I’m bragging or anything. Okay, maybe a little.

But here’s where it gets really fun. I’m a propagation pro. Sounds fancy, right? It means I can take a cutting from a hibiscus plant and grow a whole new one from it. My place is always filled with pots of baby hibiscus plants at various stages of growth. Watching them go from a tiny cutting to a blooming beauty is like watching your kid graduate from college, minus the tuition fees, but still filled with growing pains.

Also, let’s not forget the science! I’ve buried myself in plant biology books and research papers, geeking out over the genetics of hibiscus. I even tinker with hybridization, trying to create new hibiscus varieties. Sometimes I feel like a mad scientist, but with fewer explosions and more flowers.

You can also find me volunteering at local schools and community centers, spreading the plant gospel. My workshops on hibiscus care are a hit. I break it down so easily, I have people asking for my phone number all the time.  There’s nothing like seeing someone’s face light up when their hibiscus finally blooms.

Now let’s talk about what my clients say. They’re the best. I treat every plant like it’s my own, keeping detailed notes and personalized care routines. I definitely understand that these plants are practically family. And when they come home to find their plants not just alive but thriving, well, that’s my version of a standing ovation. In my downtime, I roam the Blue Ridge Mountains, soaking up inspiration from nature’s wild gardens. These adventures fuel my hibiscus experiments, pushing me to capture that wild beauty in my own little Eden.

So, that’s me, Mike, the plant sitter, hibiscus obsessed guy who turned a childhood passion into a full blown, fun filled career. If your plants need a vacation plant nanny, you know who to call!
