Service Description

Describe the plant-sitting services you offer

Responsibilities

Watering — water indoor and outdoor plants on the schedule provided, with the right amount per plant (some need more, some less; overwatering is the bigger risk)
Soil-moisture checks — check soil before watering rather than watering on a fixed day, and note anything that seems too wet or too dry
Pest inspections — look over leaves, stems, and soil for signs of pests or disease, and report anything unusual with a photo
Pruning — remove dead or yellowing leaves and spent blooms
Rotating plants — turn indoor pots periodically so they grow evenly toward the light
Outdoor garden care — water beds and containers, pull obvious weeds, and check that nothing is wilting or waterlogged
Other tasks as needed — misting

What experience do you have caring for plants?

I've been keeping plants for years, both indoors and out, and I've learned most of it the honest way — by killing a few and figuring out why.

A houseplant collection that's grown to include pothos, philodendron, monstera, snake plants, ZZ plants, spider plants, peace lilies, ferns, and a handful of succulents and cacti

I've cared for friends' and neighbors' plants while they traveled — following written care sheets, checking soil before watering, and sending photo updates so they knew things were fine

What types of plants are you comfortable caring for?

Pothos, philodendron, monstera, and other aroids
Snake plants, ZZ plants, and other low-water succulents-adjacent types
Spider plants, peace lilies, and other easy tropicals
Fiddle-leaf figs and other ficus varieties
Ferns, calatheas, and other humidity-loving plants
Succulents and cacti — watered sparingly and checked carefully for rot
Flowering and seasonal

Orchids (basic watering and root checks, not repotting)
African violets and other blooming houseplants
Annuals and container plantings on patios and porches
Herbs and edibles

Basil, mint, rosemary, thyme, and other potted herbs
Tomatoes, peppers, and other container vegetables
Lettuce and leafy greens in beds or pots
Outdoor garden

Flower beds and border plantings
Shrubs and small ornamental trees (watering and basic checks)

What will you do during a typical visit?

Walk-through first — a quick look at every plant before touching anything, so I can spot wilting, yellowing, drooping, or anything that changed since the last visit.
Soil-moisture checks — finger-test or moisture meter each pot before watering. I water only what's actually dry, since overwatering kills more houseplants than underwatering does.
Watering — indoor plants get watered individually to their own needs, with drainage checked so nothing sits in standing water. Outdoor beds and containers get watered based on heat and rainfall, not a fixed schedule.
Pest and disease inspection — undersides of leaves, stems, and the top of the soil, looking for mites, mealybugs, scale, fungus gnats, or spots and rot. Anything suspicious gets photographed and reported.
Pruning and deadheading — dead,

What makes you a reliable plant sitter?

I follow your instructions, not my own guesses. If you leave a written care sheet, I stick to it — amounts, timing, which plants get what. I check with you before doing anything outside the plan.
I check before I water. Soil-moisture checks first, every visit. Overwatering is the most common way houseplants die, so I don't water on autopilot just because it's a scheduled day.
I show up when I say I will. Agreed visit days and times, and a heads-up if anything changes on my end — not a surprise no-show.
You get proof of every visit. A short text with photos and notes after each one, so you're not wondering whether anyone actually came.
I flag problems early. Pests, rot, wilting, or a plant that looks off gets photographed and reported right away, while it's still fixable.
