In-Home Plant Sitting
Plant care service offered

Service Description

Describe the plant-sitting services you offer

I offer flexible, personalized plant care so you can travel, work, or rest knowing your plants are in good hands.

In-Home Plant Sitting and Drop-In Visits
Whether you’re away for a weekend or a month, I’ll stop by on a schedule that fits your plants’ needs. Each visit can include:

Watering based on each plant’s needs, not a one-size-fits-all routine
Checking soil moisture, light, and overall plant health
Removing dead or yellowing leaves and light pruning
Rotating plants for even light exposure
Watching for pests or early signs of stress
Misting or humidity support for tropical plants

Outdoor Garden Care
I can also tend to gardens, patios, and container plants, including watering, weeding, deadheading flowers, harvesting ripe vegetables and herbs so nothing goes to waste, and keeping an eye on anything that needs extra attention.

Updates and Communication
I’ll send photo updates through the app so you can see how your plants are doing while you’re away. If I notice a problem, I’ll let you know right away and talk through solutions with you.

Extra Support
Need help beyond sitting? I’m happy to offer repotting, propagation, or advice on keeping your plants thriving long after you’re home. For those who are curious, I also offer guidance on connecting with your plants on a more holistic, healing level, drawing on my experience teaching herbal medicine and plant spirit medicine.

What experience do you have caring for plants?

My love of plants started in my grandfather’s vegetable garden, and it has shaped my life ever since. I’ve spent 10 years studying herbs and plants, and 5 years living and working on farms, caring for herbs, vegetables, fruit trees, and shrubs through every season.

Today I’m a clinical herbalist and forest therapy guide, so plants are both my profession and my passion. I’ve spent hundreds of hours in the forest observing and connecting with trees and plants, learning to identify entire sections of woodland down to individual blades of grass. That practice has trained me to notice the small signs that tell you how a plant is really doing: the color of its leaves, the feel of its soil, how it responds to light. Catching those early cues is what keeps plants thriving instead of just surviving.

I’ve also taught workshops in herbal medicine making and plant spirit medicine, helping people build deeper, more meaningful relationships with the plants around them.

Whether you have a single houseplant on the windowsill or a backyard garden, I’ll care for your plants with the same patience and respect I give my own. I believe every plant has its own personality, and I enjoy getting to know each one.

What types of plants are you comfortable caring for?

I’m comfortable caring for a wide variety of plants, from easygoing houseplants to more particular collections.

Houseplants: Tropicals like monstera, pothos, philodendron, and calathea, plus ferns, trailing plants, palms, and statement plants like fiddle leaf figs and snake plants.

Succulents and Cacti: I understand that less is often more with these, and I know how easy they are to overwater.

Herbs: Both culinary and medicinal herbs, indoors or out. As a clinical herbalist, herbs are my specialty, and I know how to keep them healthy and productive.

Vegetable and Fruit Gardens: From seedlings to harvest, including raised beds, in-ground gardens, and container gardens.

Outdoor Plants: Flowers, perennials, shrubs, and trees. I spent 5 years on farms caring for all of these through every season.

Seedlings and Starts: Young plants need consistent care, and I’ve been growing from seed since childhood.

Every plant has its own rhythm, and I take time to learn each one’s preferences for light, water, and humidity. If you have something rare, unusual, or famously finicky, like an orchid or a variegated plant, I’m happy to follow your care instructions closely and learn its specific needs.

What will you do during a typical visit?

Every visit follows a calm, consistent routine so nothing gets missed.

1. Arrive and Check In
I’ll arrive at the agreed time, follow any entry instructions you’ve given me, and treat your home with care and respect.

2. Do a Full Walkthrough
Before I water anything, I visit every plant and take a look. I check the soil with my fingers, look at the leaves, and notice anything that’s changed since my last visit. This is where I catch small issues before they become big ones.

3. Provide Care
Next I water, feed, or tend to each plant according to your instructions and what I observed. Some plants may need a drink every visit, while others are better left alone. Knowing the difference is what keeps plants healthy.

4. Tidy Up
I clean up any spilled soil or water, remove fallen leaves, and leave your space just as I found it.

5. Close Up and Report Back
Before I leave, I make sure blinds, windows, and doors are set the way you like them. Then I send you a quick update with photos so you can see your plants are happy and thriving.

What makes you a reliable plant sitter?

Reliability matters to me, and I know how much trust it takes to hand someone your keys and your plants.

Before Your Trip
I like to start with a meet-and-greet, in person or by video, so you can introduce me to your plants and walk me through their routines. I’ll take notes on each plant’s needs, your home’s quirks, and any special instructions so I’m fully prepared before day one.

Showing Up Consistently
I keep a clear schedule and show up when I say I will. With a background in program management and 20 years in service and events, I’m organized, detail-oriented, and used to keeping many moving pieces on track.

Clear, Honest Communication
I’ll keep all our messages in the app so everything stays in one place. I respond promptly and will always tell you the truth about how your plants are doing. If something comes up, like a pest, a drooping plant, or an unexpected change in your home, I’ll reach out right away and we’ll decide together how to handle it if that is what you want.

Respecting Your Preferences
Some owners love daily check-ins, while others just want to know everything’s fine. Tell me what works for you, and I’ll follow your lead.

Identity & Safety Notice: House Plant Sitting currently does not conduct background checks on plant sitters. Sitters displaying the “Identity Verified by Didit” badge have completed identity verification through Didit using government-issued ID, facial verification, and fraud prevention checks. Identity verification is an added trust signal, but plant owners should still review each sitter’s profile, services, ratings, reviews, and messages before booking.
