Describe the plant-sitting services you offer
I can provide drop-in visits for routine watering, pest checks, plant rotation, and pruning (if asked) of indoor and outdoor houseplants. I am able to water outdoor plants and gardens, as well as look for pests, prune, and harvest veggies. I can also contact with updates on a plant’s condition if requested.
What experience do you have caring for plants?
I have a houseplant collection of about 50 plants! I’ve been caring for them for about six years now. I also work for a garden center in Roanoke where I’m responsible for watering and maintaining plants all around the shop. I have outdoor ornamental and vegetable gardens, so I’m prepared to water plants, look for pests, prune, and harvest vegetables outdoors.
What types of plants are you comfortable caring for?
I’m comfortable caring for a variety of tropical houseplants, succulents, orchids, ferns, herbs, decorative container plantings, and flower or vegetable gardens.
What will you do during a typical visit?
According to your instructions, in a typical visit I will check soil moisture for each plant and water accordingly. If asked, I can then look for pests, prune, fertilize, or rotate plants.
What makes you a reliable plant sitter?
I have a houseplant collection of my own, so I understand how much it eases stress on trips if you have someone who knows plants to water instead of a relative or friend with no experience. I’m used to keeping up with watering checks and following instructions from working at a nursery. I’ve also been a dog sitter for the past few years, so I’m comfortable with the drop-in care aspect and will respect your home.
