Professional plant sitting and horticultural care for indoor and outdoor plants. Services include watering, soil-moisture checks, plant health inspections, pest monitoring, pruning, grooming, plant rotation, fertilizing as requested, outdoor container care, and following individualized plant-care instructions. I can also provide photo updates and flag any signs of stress, pests, disease, or other issues while you’re away.
What experience do you have caring for plants?
I have 10+ years of professional horticulture experience caring for residential, commercial, rooftop, terrace, interior, and container plantings throughout NYC. I have extensive experience with tropical plants, orchids, succulents, herbs, outdoor containers, vegetable gardens, living walls, green roofs, and specialty plant collections. I’m also a Brooklyn Botanic Garden Master Gardener and Master Composter,
hands-on experience maintaining plants in a wide range of environments and conditions.
What types of plants are you comfortable caring for?
I’m comfortable caring for virtually all types of houseplants, from common tropicals and succulents to rare/collector plants and more sensitive specimens. I have extensive horticultural experience with watering, pruning, grooming, plant support, propagation, pest monitoring, light requirements, humidity needs, and general plant health. I’m also comfortable caring for large statement plants, indoor trees, orchids, herbs, cuttings, and plants with specialized care routines.
What will you do during a typical visit?
I begin by reviewing the owner’s care instructions and assessing each plant individually rather than watering everything on a set schedule. I check soil moisture and overall plant condition, water according vto each plant’s needs, inspect for pests or signs of stress, remove damaged foliage when appropriateness, rotate plants for even light exposure, and complete any requested care tasks. I’ll also provide updates and photos when requested and communicate promptly if I notice anything that requires the owner’s attention.
