Describe the plant-sitting services you offer
I provide attentive, individualized in-home care for houseplants while you’re away. Every plant and collection is different, so I follow your established care routine while also using my own plant knowledge to check soil moisture and make sure plants are only watered when they actually need it — no automatic “watering day” here! Services can include watering, soil-moisture checks, pest inspections, plant rotation, light pruning and removal of dead or damaged foliage, checking grow lights/humidity, and monitoring plants for signs of stress. I’m also comfortable caring for propagation setups, moss poles, tropicals, aroids, succulents, cacti and other specialty houseplants. Outdoor container plants and small garden areas can also be cared for during your time away.
What experience do you have caring for plants?
Plants are a huge part of my everyday life, and I have years of hands-on experience maintaining a large personal collection. I’m experienced in watering and moisture management, repotting, soil and substrate selection, root health, root-rot recovery, propagation, moss poles, grow lights, pest identification and management, and troubleshooting stressed plants. I also propagate from my own collection and sell established plants and rooted cuttings to other plant lovers, so I regularly care for plants from fresh propagation through mature growth. I also grow seasonal vegetables and container gardens outdoors. I’m very attentive to changes in individual plants and believe great plant care starts with observing the plant rather than simply following a watering schedule.
What types of plants are you comfortable caring for?
I’m comfortable caring for everything from common houseplants to large, diverse and more specialized collections. This includes aroids such as philodendrons, pothos, monsteras, alocasias and anthuriums; hoyas; begonias; snake plants; ZZ plants; prayer plants; African violets; ferns; palms; orchids; succulents and cacti; carnivorous plants; and other tropical and specialty plants. I’m also comfortable with rare or higher-value plants, propagation setups and plants growing in soil, sphagnum, semi-hydro or other substrates. Outdoors, I’m comfortable caring for herbs, vegetables, greens, flowers, seedlings, container gardens and established garden plants. I’m happy to follow specific care instructions for anything especially unique in your collection.
What will you do during a typical visit?
During each visit, I’ll follow your individual care instructions while also checking each plant rather than watering automatically. I’ll assess soil moisture, water plants that are ready, empty drainage trays as needed, check foliage and stems for pests or signs of stress, remove dead foliage when appropriate, and complete any agreed-upon care such as rotating plants, checking propagation setups, moss poles, grow lights or humidity. If I notice anything concerning, I’ll document it and contact you rather than making major changes without permission. Before leaving, I’ll make sure everything is tidy and send you a photo update so you know how your plants are doing. 🌿

Reliability and trust are just as important to me as plant knowledge, especially when someone is trusting me with their home. I’m an established local professional and run my own client-based business, where communication, confidentiality, consistency and follow-through are essential. Prior to owning my business, I spent many years working as a child advocate, a role requiring tremendous responsibility, professionalism and trust. I’m also a longtime homeowner and pet owner with a large plant collection, so I understand what it means to entrust someone with the living things and home you care about. I’ll respect your space, follow instructions carefully, communicate clearly, show up when I say I will, and treat your plants and home with the same care I would want for mine.
