Describe the plant-sitting services you offer

Hello, I am a small gardener with a big heart!

I specialize in food cultivation gardens and small ecosystem architecture, and also offer planning, building and maintenance services throughout the outdoor gardening season.

I can watch your garden while you are away for business, vacations, or last second trips! Have peace of mind knowing that everything will be meticulously cared for with love.

I am a full time student for Horticulture, so my knowledge of my passion continues to grow.

What experience do you have caring for plants?

I have 5 years of experience as a full time Farm Operations Manager, and am a current full time student studying Horticulture.

Some of my day to day tasks of managing a 1.25 acre Organic & Regenerative agricultural plot include:

- Crop & Plot planning for 9 separate fields and various vegetable and fruit varieties

- Irrigation set-up, monitoring and maintenance

- Seeding, greenhouse germination, and up-potting of seedlings

- Transplanting and maintenance of in ground crops including pruning

- General maintenance of farm grounds from mowing, to hand weeding

- Management of the rotation of seasonal varieties of vegetables to ensure a constant harvest

- Application of correct harvesting techniques to ensure integrity of the crop is not compromised

- Creation of composting systems and soil amendment systems

I have some experience caring for my over 25 houseplants over the last 10 years as well, but I find my comfort zone to be in the outdoor garden.

What types of plants are you comfortable caring for?

I am the most comfortable working with plants that are cultivated for food, and perennial long term crops and herbaceous plants.

What will you do during a typical visit?

My routine typically begins with assessing the garden as a whole for the day, beginning with checking soil moisture levels and future outdoor forecast conditions so I may plan appropriately.

If there are any specific requests, those will always be handled immediately.

After that the routine is as follows:

- Watering and nutrient application

- Weeding and general garden bed maintenance

- Applicable pest and disease treatments

- Pruning and spent matter composting if applicable

- Compost maintenance and assessment

- Necessary harvest storage

I can also work with you to devise a comprehensive plan for seasonal food cultivation garden maintenance outside of house plant sitting if you require more assistance with things like planning or building your garden space. My goal is to connect people to their food as much as possible so they can feel more comfortable and reassured when feeding their families!

What makes you a reliable plant sitter?

I work in agriculture because I want to fix our broken food system. Communication has to be transparent in these systems otherwise it creates mistrust, confusion and stress.

Many people think it is too expensive or time consuming to grow your own food, but it doesn't have to be that way! I meticulously care for each plant with love and intention while minimizing the stress of managing a garden all of the time at home.

Whether it be a last minute trip, a long term vacation, or just a few days to recover and be a human, I am here to offer support to my clients while providing a quality service.

I am flexible and want to work with you to fit your needs, schedule, and budget. I will be available fully during and after our visits.
